Ruth Powers Sea Gazing

Yes, this is muscular Ruth. Definitely the most challenging piece I've attempted so far, for many reasons.

Those reasons are that I've never attempted much in the way of anatomy before. I'm aware that some of the proportions were off from what I intended, especially in her right arm and left...Uhmm...cheek. However, I thought it looked like she moved her right arm farther away from the viewer. If she shifted her stance at the same time, her right glute might be flexed while her left one isn't, hence the difference there.

And, that island in the distance...I've never done a piece with something reflecting in water. Also, there is something awfully familiar about the island! Do I sense a crossover in the future? Maybe!
